Whether you’re entertaining family and friends or celebrating a special occasion, Champagne is the perfect choice to welcome guests and to toast the joyful event. The Champagne Citrus Cocktail, elevates Champagne from customary to special with the addition of a sugar-cube soaked in grapefruit bitters and a twist of lemon peel. The result is a light and fresh drink filled with lots of bubbles and a hint of citrus.
For additional citrus flavor, mix it up with a dash of orange bitters or go for the Classic Champagne Cocktail by using Angostura bitters. It doesn’t get much easier to create the perfect cocktail for that special toast.
Champagne Citrus Cocktail Recipe
1 sugar cube
2-3 dashes of grapefruit bitters or orange bitters or a little of each
4-5 ounces Champagne or sparkling wine
Drop a sugar cube into a Champagne flute. Add the bitters and wait a few seconds for the sugar cube soak them up. Top off the glass with your favorite Champagne or sparkling wine. Add the lemon peel and serve.
